AWARENESS = CHOICE = CHANGE

The Short Version

You are doing the best you can and sometimes, you need help.

My goal as a therapist is to provide a space where you can safely and confidently explore what has happened in your past, what is happening in your present, and what we can work on for your future. Awareness is power! Awareness = Choice = Change.

Whether our sessions are individual or relational, through a process of exploration, I allow space for organic growth in my clients’ lives and relationships. Through radical compassion, deep listening, and engaged support, I strive to be your ally.

What I Do (The Long Version)

I empower my clients to confront themselves, to explore, to process, and to think critically. I will supportively hold you accountable, gently challenge, and fiercely encourage you. The therapeutic space allows for and inspires the generation of new perspectives and solutions that will ideally help you reach your goals for a fuller, more satisfactory life.
I work with most theraputic concerns and am particularly passionate about assisting those whose issues and existence are often excluded from the dominant narrative, particularly Black women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and those in Interracial/Intercultural and/or Polyamorous/CNM relationships.
I am impassioned about helping clients live their best lives by discovering and embracing their whole self, acknowledging and advocating for their needs, and building respectful, and meaningful relationships. I pull from a few main psychological approaches: humanistic, narrative, socio-cultural, positive psychology, and strength-based.
As you cultivate your own uniquely authentic voice during our sessions, you become better prepared to interact and engage with the world. I equip all clients with concrete life skills; these skills might be to improve relations, mitigate anxiety, or strengthen confidence. We will work collaboratively and I encourage clients to take the lead during this process. We will acknowledge and address key elements of personal growth such as thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationship dynamics, meaning, purpose, and whatever else is important to bring into the room.
If you are uncertain about therapy, or wondering whether or not it is for you – That’s fair. While I believe everybody can benefit from therapy, at the end of the day it has to be a personal choice as one’s willingness to be in the “room” greatly impacts therapeutic success. I encourage folks to explore and consult with a few therapists to see who feels like a good match as no two therapists are alike. Consultations are a great time to express your hesitations, ask questions, and explore therapeutic fit.
